Update October 15th, 6:38PM ET: Added confirmation from Sony via customer email. I have PSNSTUFF with the last known database with 62k entries i forgot where i got it from but try PSX PLACE. The PlayStation Store’s wishlist feature is also being discontinued, so any wishlist items you have on there will be removed from your account.

Sony will also remove the ability to download apps, themes, and avatars for PS4 on both web and mobile, but they can still be downloaded on the console. Five years ago, PlayStation Network was hacked and the personal details of 77m users accessed. However, it is important to note that this only applies to new purchases, and any previous purchases for any legacy PlayStation titles and downloadable content will remain accessible through your PlayStation account. Users will still be allowed to make new purchases for PlayStation legacy titles, but they will have to purchase them directly from PS3, PSP, Vita, or PS4 gaming consoles. The PlayStation web store will remove the option to purchase those games, and the mobile app’s update will be available on October 28th.

Sony is sending emails to PlayStation gamers that confirm a revamped digital storefront coming between October 21st and 26th, which will remove users’ options to purchase games and DLC released initially on the PS3, PSP, and Vita from a mobile device or PC. The Vita didn’t fare as well, with over 10 million units sold in total, but the PSP was a hit with more than 80 millions sold during its 10-year lifetime.If you prefer buying older PlayStation games over the web or on mobile, you won’t be able to do that for much longer.

Sony’s PS3 originally launched in November 2006, and more than 80 million units of the console were sold in total. PlayStation Plus is Sonys subscription service for all things. The only thing that’s really changing here is you won’t be able to buy new digital games and content unless the games have cross-buy support. Legally (even if a bit unethically) you can just open a ton of PSN accounts with free. That’s clearly not the case, which is good news if you still own a PS3, PSP, or Vita and you want to continue accessing your games. News of the closures originally surfaced last week from TheGamer, and many had feared the closures would prevent people from downloading games to their devices. You’ll also still be able to purchase cross-buy content following the closures, allowing you to access the PS3 and PS Vita / PSP versions of games that come with cross-buy support. In-game purchases will also stop after the stores are closed.
The only thing that’s changing, at least for now, is that you won’t be able to purchase PS3, PS Vita, or PSP digital games and videos. Thankfully, you’ll still be able to download and play previously purchased games, videos, and media content.

Sony is also removing the remaining purchase functionality for its PlayStation Portable (PSP) on July 2nd. The shutdowns mean you’ll no longer be able to purchase digital copies of games or DLC for the PS3 and Vita. Sony is officially closing its PlayStation Store for the PlayStation 3 on July 2nd, with the store shuttering for Vita devices on August 27th.
